Gays should not be priests, Vatican offical says

This article is horribly sad because it just seems to blame the recent molestation scandal in the Roman Catholic church on gay priests. I am not going to even address homosexuality and religion, but it is sad that gay priests are being used as a scapegoat when most of the men that molest children are in fact not gay. They are straight!

Maybe we will actually come to a point in our society when sexuality does not matter. But for now, I guess we all have to live with the depressing reality where who you fall in love with can result in descfimination, job loss, pain, and even death.

Something else the Vatican also forgets that most of these molestation reports are from people who are in their 30's on up and who were altar servers. Our generation is the first to have Vatican-approved female altar servers in the population (as of 1995). Should there be a pattern to wait to really publicize the victim's experience, we won't really hear about male priest-female child molestion until we, my generation, get older. What's the Vatican going to do then, blame straight priests and condemn heterosexuality? I think not.
