Software Design Process -- Correctly!

Here is an article entitled, They Write the Right Stuff. It details the software design process that the NASA's on-board shuttle group goes through to write and design the software that controls the space shuttle. It is fairly interesting becuase they spend over 1/3 of their time writing the plan for their software. It is more about the process then about the code. Can you imagine what OS X or Windows XP would look like if they wrote software like this?
