This evening, Jason and I had our own little Christmas -- an early Christmas. I started the whole thing off by suggesting that we open one present tonight. We opened one present and then it turned into all of the presents. So much for self-control. We are waiting until tomorrow morning to look at the stockings.
So, Santa got me:
And Apple sent me my CR 12" PowerBook today too! It is amazing how small this computer is compared to my 17". It feels like a handheld PDA compared to the 17" PowerBook.
Hope everyone has a wonderfuly holiday vacation! ;)
Today was the last class for my Development of the Third World history course. My professor made a comment during our discussion of Iraq and how it is relevant to what we have been learning over the last semester. She said:
"Democracy is not like Tylenol, you can't just swallow two pills and it will be ok." In essence she was saying that creating a culture of democracy is something that must happen over time.
Also, it seems like Iraq is at a disadvantage because they do not have a central figure that the people can rally behind. What do you think?
Have you ever been avoiding someone because you owe them some work and then run into them while you are in line to get coffee or lunch. Then you have to come clean about not doing their work and apologize as you quickly flee to a dark room.
